We’re devoting the 2010 Workshop on Saturday, 9th October to an outstanding
symphony by
Dmitri Shostakovich.

The Workshop will take place at Alderley Edge Methodist Church from 9.30 am to
5.00 pm, and the fee will be
£13 (including refreshments and sandwich lunch). If you would like to take part,

answer the following:
Shostakovich’s First Symphony contains at least two musical quotations from Wagner’s Siegfried. Can you spot them?

To enter the competition, simply use the box on the left to give us full details
(use the timings on these recordings). In particular, we will want to know the
Act and Scene in Siegfried, and the words in German at or near the relevant
point.
